carex plant 3D-Modell

this model was built for use with the shockwave 3d engine. an effort was made to keep the polygon count as low as possible, although the item was a key object in the scene so it is not as low as would usually be found among similar objects of this genre. the single texture for this model is repeated on every frond. the texture is splayed out in a way that would allow one to cut down the poly count significantly by using alpha channels, however the shockwave 3d engine can be problematic using this method, therefore each frond was been modeled.

as far as i can tell this might be called a carex plantaginea, although the reference images of that plant don't have quite the same color variation into yellow as you'll find in this model.
